Now that Christmas is over, the decorations will start to come down. Here in Battle Creek, tree disposal shouldn’t be much of a problem.

The City of Battle Creek says that from now until February 1, Waste Management will be picking up Christmas trees from the curbside; this pickup will be on the normal trash pickup day for City of Battle Creek customers. The city wants to make sure that before you leave your tree out for disposal, however, that you remove all lights, ornaments and other decorations.

They also want to remind people that trash pickup is delayed by one day this week and next, due to the holidays. If your normal pickup day is Wednesday, for example, you should leave your bins out on Thursday and so on.

Potential programs for tree pickup for Calhoun County residents outside of Battle Creek have not been announced as of yet. 95.3 WBCK will publicize any such program as we are made aware of them.
