A National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) reports is showing that states spending less on K-12 education are making the largest educational gains.

Tennessee, Indiana and Florida were among the top six in the nation for achieving net gains.  Tennessee pupils spending ranks 49th nationally, Indiana ranked 26th and Florida ranked 42nd.

They all scored higher than Michigan which ranks 22nd nationally on per pupil spending of $12,644 yet was near the bottom of the rankings coming in at 39th.

In fact a 2012 Harvard University study found no relationship between increased educational funding and student growth, go figure.

What does this tell us?
