Sindy Buford, director of the Calhoun County Animal Center, tells The Richard Piet Show approximately 2500 animals come through the center every year, the majority of which are strays.

She also discussed the protocols when faced with multiple abandoned animals, as was the case last week in Battle Creek. The center, located at 165 South Union Street in Battle Creek, is the city contracted shelter, which acts to respond to stray animals and adoptions in Calhoun County.
