A Kalamazoo family has been displaced after a house fire on Sunday.

Crews were called to the 800 block of Simpson St. around 2:12pm Sunday on reports of a fire, and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the second story of the house. The fire was brought under control in around 20 minutes, with crews sticking around for over an hour to make sure it was out.

No injuries were reported, but two adults and six children were displaced in the blaze; the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that they are getting help from the Red Cross.

Authorities have not indicated what the cause of the fire might have been, but the cause is being looked into by the Fire Marshal.
