Accidental Death in Power Line Collision
Police have released the name of the West Michigan man who was electrocuted Monday night.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department says 43-year-old Jason Bearup was using a SkyTrak forklift to make repairs on his home when the equipment came in contact with overhead power lines.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Crockery Township firefighter also suffered serious injuries when he stepped near the front tire of the lift and was shocked. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
