A raid at a hotel in Kalamazoo County led to a fugitive from Alabama being released.

A coordinated effort between the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team and the US Marshall’s took place at the Red Roof Inn in Oshtemo Township, around 4:30pm Wednesday.

Authorities arrested 25-year-old Darnell Douglas and his girlfriend without incident.  The girlfriend was questioned and released, while Davis remains lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail awaiting extradition proceedings.

Davis was being sought for connections to a potential gang related murder in Alabama, in which investigators say he shot the victim multiple times.
