An investigation into a recent string of burglaries resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, two handguns and stolen property from homes in eastern Calhoun County.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team executed a search warrant, Saturday, in the 26000 block of D Drive South in Albion Township. Upon arrival, deputies encountered five people at the home. A search was conducted and the meth, stolen property and handguns were located. It was confirmed that the stolen property was from a series of home burglaries that have plagued eastern Calhoun County.

A 35 year old male who was on felony probation was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.  A 33 year old female was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine.  Investigators also located an amount of methamphetamine on a 32 year old female.

Investigators will be continuing their investigation and names will be withheld pending arraignment.  Deputies were assisted by Albion Public Safety Officers and Lifecare Ambulance.
