The Albion Wildcats haven't played basketball since the High School was closed a year and a half ago.   But some Wildcats will take the court tonight, in a "Globetrotter-Style" game against a team from Chicago, the "Harlem Ambassadors".

Tom Spratley is in charge of athletics at Albion Community School, and coaches the 7th and 8th grade girls' basketball teams.

He'll be the coach for the "Wildcats" tonight.   Spratley says it'll be a mix of alumni and staff members taking on the Harlem Ambassadors.  He says Kevin Davis, Charles Fontaine,  Henry Williams, Nikole Fether, Katy Henderson, and Tasha Shellner will be joined by several others to take on the coed team from Chicago.

Proceeds from the game will go to the Albion Community Foundation.

"It's not about winning and losing so much, but more about bringing some livelihood and fun to the community," said Spratley.   "It's something that'll give the kids some fun memories they can hang on to."

The game is tonight at the former Albion High School, now known as Albion Community School, sponsored by the Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau and the Albion Public Schools.   The Harlem Ambassadors play a hilarious game of whacky stunts, alley-oop passes, and thunderous dunks.  Tickets are $10 in advance at the Chamber Website. , $12 at the door.   It’s a clean, family-friendly night of popcorn, hotdogs and fun-filled basketball.  The Albion Wildcats, versus the Harlem Ambassadors….tonight at 7 at the Albion Community School gym.
