Aretha Franklin, the 'Queen Of Soul' has passed away this morning at the age of 76 as reported by Local 4 Detroit.  It was first reported on Monday that she had entered a Detroit Hospital, considered to be "gravely ill."

She had spent the week in the company of her loved ones, with many vigils being held throughout Detroit, hoping she would pull through. There is no doubt she was the most influencial soul/female singer in the last 100 years. I'll always remember her for her role in the Blues Brothers film, and being such a big part of the Motown movement, even though was never signed to Motown records, and her performance of "America The Beautiful" at Wrestlemania 3 at the Pontiac Silverdome, in front of 93,173 people.

There really aren't many words that can be said. The world has lost one of the greatest female singers of all time. I hope her family and loved ones can get through this trying time.

R.I.P Aretha
