Armed Homeowner Confronts Intruder

Battle Creek Police responded to a report of a home invasion, in the 100 block of West Territorial, at approximately 5:45 AM, Sunday morning.

A 21 year-old man had made entry through the front door of the residence and was confronted by the homeowner.

The homeowner attempted to hold the suspect at gunpoint, inside the residence, but the man was able to run out of the house.

As officers arrived at the scene, they observed the suspect running northbound through neighboring yards.

After a short foot chase the suspect was taken into custody and arrested for home invasion and resisting arrest.

The man was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.
