Arrest in Attempted Murder Case

Police say a man is in custody following an attempted murder this morning.  Battle Creek Police say they responded shortly after midnight when a woman reported that a man she had had a relationship with attacked her and put a gun to her head in an attempt to kill her.  The woman said the man pulled the trigger but the gun didn’t go off and her attacker then fled.  Officers say they caught up with the suspect’s truck and chased at high speed until the truck hit a parked car and a utility pole.  The suspect was treated at the hospital and then taken to the County Jail pending charges.
