A Kentucky man has been arrested in Calhoun County after a brief standoff with police Tuesday.

Around 4:30am March 29, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 12,000 block of 15 ½ Mile road in Marshall Township on reports of a man with a gun.  In the scene, deputies found the 32-year-old man from Fort Campbell Kentucky, armed and locked inside the residence.

The 25-year-old female victim told authorities that the man was intoxicated, and had pointed a gun at her after an argument.  She had been able to escape without injury.

After around 20 minutes of standoff between police and the suspect, he did exit the residence without incident and was arrested.  Deputies then obtained a search warrant for the residence, as well as the hotel the Kentucky man was staying at, and retrieved several weapons and ammo.

The Kentucky man is now lodged at the Calhoun County jail, and awaits arraignment on felonious assault and felony firearm charges.
