Attempted Armed Robbery At Party Store In Springfield

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted armed robbery that happened early Friday morning at Sam's Party Store in Springfield. Deputies responded to the 1200 block of West Dickman at approximately 1:30am. Two individuals reportedly withdrew some cash from an ATM at the store and as they were walking away, two suspects approached. They were both displaying handguns and demanding money. After a verbal exchange, the suspects fled on foot near Wyndtree Apartments.

The suspects are described as:

Black male, early 20’s, 5’6”-5’8”, black shirt, blue jeans, carrying dark-colored backpack

Black male, early 20’s, 5’10”-5’11”, light-colored shirt, black pants, carrying dark-colored backpack
