A series of sessions in Battle Creek focused on improved landlord-tenant relationships is now turning its focus to landlords - specifically those who have or currently rent to low-income tenants.

Helen Guzzo, City of Battle Creek community development specialist and housing attorney Alisa Parker of Legal Services of South Central Michigan are planning a dinner event Thursday, February 23, 2017 at which they hope to open a dialog with landlords about their challenges renting to low-income tenants. As well, the session is meant to introduce landlords to programs available to keep low-income tenants housed, in hopes they will be more amenable to working out issues rather than choosing to evict.
