Former Tigers catcher Alex Avila has signed with the Chicago White Sox. Avila spent the last seven seasons with Detroit and was an All-Star in 2011. He appeared in only 67 games last year after being placed on the disabled list with a bone bruise in his knee and finished the season batting .191 with four homers and 13 RBI.   Avila signed a one-year, two-point-five million dollar deal with the White Sox and is expected to share catching duties with Tyler Flowers.
