Each looking though a host of their own experiences, Battle Creek Police Officer Chuck Pelfrey and Freedom Firearms owner Joel Fulton offered their perspectives on the Kalamazoo shootings this past weekend.

Pelfrey concurred with Kalamazoo officers quoted as saying the Saturday shootings -allegedly at the hands of a 45-year-old man who has now been charged and apparently confessed - is among the worst situations an officer can face.

Fulton feels a societal breakdown is to blame for the prevalence of mass shootings today. He tells The Richard Piet Show folks are often oblivious to their surroundings - and, thus, compromise safety. He said people need to be more like "warriors" and be more vigilant in anticipating trouble.
