Battle Creek’s assistant city manager for operations has now resigned from their job, after a few months on the job.

In a release, the city announced that the six-month probationary period for Ernesto Reyes was up this month, and Reyes determined that the job isn’t a good fit for him.  Reyes had held the position since February, coming to Battle Creek from Pompano Beach, Florida.

“It is my goal to make sure employees are happy and successful in the jobs they have chosen to do,” said City Manager Rebecca Fleury. “It is the best situation when that works out, but if employees recognize that this is not where they want to be and they are confident enough to move on, we support this fully.”

The Assistant City Manager for Operations position was created in the Spring of 2015, and now that it is vacant the City says they will take the time to “evaluate its impact”.
