Battle Creek Brothers Charged With Assaulting Young Girls

Two Battle Creek brothers have now been arraigned on sex crime charges, after they are accused of raping several young children.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports that 32-year-old Allen French was charged on Friday with 4 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and his brother 29-year-old Scott French faced the same charges Monday in Calhoun County Court. Prosecutors say that the two of them sexually assaulted two girls aged 9 and 8 several times over the course of a few years.

Allen French was already behind bars, in a separate sexual assault case; Authorities say that he accosted a 16-year-old girl as she got off a school bus, took her deep into the woods, and raped her at gunpoint. The trial in that case is set to begin in April.

If either man is convicted of these new charges, they could get life in prison.
