The Harper Creek Optimist Club steps up once again for the 38th Annual Battle Creek Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Organizing co-chair Jim Demerest tells 95.3 WBCK more than 80 floats are registered for the event, which steps off at 6 p.m. in downtown Battle Creek. It will follow the usual route down Washington Street and Michigan Avenue.

This year's parade grand marshal is Donna Hazel, a long time employee at the Battle Creek Shopper News, and whose family operated Jim Hazel's Convenience Store and Citgo station for three generations.
