Battle Creek City Commission Modifies Ethics Code Rules

The Battle Creek City Commission voted in favor of a new process for dealing with ethics code violations at last night’s meeting.

Under the policy revision, which was approved on a vote of 8-1, three commissioners would have to call for a hearing to hear accusations against another commissioner.

A majority vote would be needed to hold a commissioner in violation of the ethics code and another vote would be needed to decide on any punishment.
