A recent ordinance approved by Battle Creek City Commissioners to streamline public comment at Commission meetings was meant as a streamlining and more common sense approach to hearing from the public, according to Commissioner Lynn Ward Gray.

Though the ordinance approved by commissioners cuts total public comment time by three minutes overall, Gray tells WBCK the combining of public comment time regarding the consent agenda and resolution items into one, five-minute opportunity will be adequate.
