Several people were sent to the hospital after a car collided with a motorcycle in Springfield Sunday.

Around 3:50pm Sunday, Deputies with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Michigan Ave and Limit Street, after a motorcycle carrying two somehow was hit by a car.  Both motorcyclists, from Union City, appear to have been thrown far from the vehicle after the collision, with the 47-year-old female passenger being taken to Bronson Kalamazoo with head injuries.

The severity of her injury is not known at this time.

The 51-year-old motorcycle driver was taken to Bronson Kalamazoo with minor injuries, while the driver and passenger of the car were treated for minor injuries in Battle Creek.

The cause of the crash, and who was at fault, remains under investigation.
