Battle Creek Saddened As Local Donut Shop Will Close After 44 Years In Business

A local business that has been serving the Battle Creek community for decades will be closing soon. Louie's Donut Shop at 1200 E. Columbia Avenue has announced they will be closing their doors sometime in April.

Co-owners Joe and Carol Pajak have been operating the location since 1992, but the shop has been open since 1975. Carol says that an opportunity to sell the building presented itself and they decided it was the right time to move on. They say they will cease operations sometime on or before April 30th. At this point, they plan to stop ordering bulk supplies and will make and sell their products with what they have on hand.

Carol said she will miss working with all of her dedicated employees, including manager Laurie Palmer, who has been with them since the beginning of their time operating Louie's Donut Shop.
