Police are pursuing warrants for a mother and daughter following an incident outside a Battle Creek liquor store over the weekend. It was reported just after 9:00 outside TJ's Party Store on Meachem Avenue Saturday evening. A 15-year-old victim said she was at the store with a friend when she approached the two suspects, a 47-year-old woman and her 27-year-old daughter. Apparently, there had been previous incidents between the three and she was confronting them about a recent assault on the victim's mother.

The victim said the woman hit her in the head with a beer can and then began punching her in the face. The 15-year-old said she fought back but then was stabbed with a knife in the arm by the woman's mother. Both suspects fled the scene. The teenage victim was taken to Bronson Battle Creek for treatment and is expected to recover from her injuries.
