A 34-year-old Battle Creek man could be heading back to Indiana after he allegedly robbed a bank Thursday morning.

Local officers received information from officers in Portage, Indiana, that the man had entered a Chase bank just after 9am, passed the teller a note and showed a handgun. The suspect fled with an unknown amount of cash.

Surveillance cameras at the bank and a nearby gas station, along with a receipt, helped investigators locate the vehicle, found at an apartment on Stringham Road in Urbandale. The man surrendered around 2:30am peacefully.

He is being held at the Calhoun County Jail on the bank robbery charge and awaiting extradition.
