Battle Creek Man Killed After Motorcycle Hits Deer

A Battle Creek man is dead after his motorcycle hit a deer Tuesday evening in Barry County.

MLive reports that the accident took place around 7pm Tuesday, where a man riding a motorcycle with a passenger collided with the animal on Pifer Rd near M-37 in Dowling. The victim, identified as Michael Edwards of Battle Creek, was pronounced dead when emergency responders arrived.

The female passenger was taken to the hospital with her current condition unknown.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation; authorities say that neither motorist was wearing a helmet.
