The Battle Creek City Police responded to a call of a shooting near Cliff Street and Mott Street, at 9:35 PM. Tuesday evening.

An 18-year-old man was shot at twice, with one shot striking him in the face, while standing on the sidewalk. He was taken to the hospital by bystanders and is in stable condition.

It is unknown whether the victim and suspect knew each other, and other subjects were with the suspect who have not yet been identified.

The gunman is described as a skinny, short, young, black male and remains at large.

The incident remains under investigation by Battle Creek City police detectives and anyone with any information is urged to contact Silent Observer or the Calhoun County Central Dispatch.
