Battle Creek Man Shot Saturday Night

A 48 year-old Battle Creek man was shot in the lower chest late Saturday night. Police responded to the call at 10:45, Saturday night, in the 200 block of Cherry Street. The victim was rushed to the hospital, in critical condition.

It’s believed that the victim was outdoors when several shots were fired and he was struck once.

A suspect was located several blocks away, after the incident. The 26 year-old man was questioned and a firearm was recovered. It is unknown whether the suspect was arrested, but the shooting remains under investigation.
