Battle Creek Man Suspected of Abusing Infant

Battle Creek Police say that they now believe a 10-week-old child who is currently hospitalized was intentionally hurt and not hurt in an accident as they originally thought. The then-7-week-old infant was rushed to the hospital in the early morning hours of June 25^th with serious head injuries. The child was supposed to be under the care of a 25-year-old man at a house on Douglas Street. Now investigators say that they think that the man hurt the child on purpose. Prosecutors are being asked to charge the man with First Degree Child Abuse.  The victim is in intensive care at a hospital in Kalamazoo.
