A lawsuit filed against The City of Battle Creek by four female police officers has now been settled.

The Battle Creek City Commission approved the $52,000 settlement in February, and the settlement was signed and agreed upon this week.  In the lawsuit, the current and former officers said that the installation of a video camera in the locker room violated their right to privacy, as well as violating the Fourth Amendment.

The camera had been installed after complaints of theft in the locker room, and the camera did catch the thief who was subsequently fired.

The city denies wrongdoing, and says that they settled to offset costs.
