A 36-year-old Battle Creek woman was arrested on a charge of arson after Battle Creek police said she started a fire behind the One Stop Lube at 145 West Columbia Avenue. Officers were called at 7:20 p.m. Friday and said they found a lawnmower bag, leaves, wood and lawn chair burning about 10 feet away from the building.

An employee of the business happened to be driving by and found the woman who had started the fire. When he confronted her she told him she was the owner of the business. The employee told police the woman swung at him and then threw a piece of wood at his car. When officers arrived the woman said she was cold so she started the fire. She also told police she had been cheated by the business so she was retaliating and that the workers at the business were trying to frame her but she couldn't say how because it was classified. Police extinguished the small fire and took the woman to the Calhoun County jail.
