A police chase through Battle Creek led to a crash, and a temporary power outage yesterday afternoon.

The Battle Creek Police Department says that they were called to the 200 block of Riverside Dr. around 3pm Sunday on reports of someone firing a gun inside of a residence. Their suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived, and the vehicle was spotted shortly after.

Police say the suspect failed to stop, and led police on a chase down Columbia Ave. before the driver lost control near Michigan Ave. and Wattles Rd. in Emmett Township. WWMT reports that the vehicle crashed into a pole, sparking a small fire, which was put out.

The driver was taken into custody, and no injuries were reported in connection to the shooting.
