What a difference a year can make.  Last March over at Lakeview High School, the Holt Rams knocked the Battle Creek Central Bearcats out of post-season play in a hard-fought game. However, it was a very different story Wednesday night on the Bearcats' home court.

A flurry of three-point shots early in the first period spearheaded the Bearcats attack en route to a 71-48 win.  Battle Creek was 8-for-20 from behind the arc compared to Holt coming up empty with their eight attempts.  From the free throw line the Bearcats were 3-for-10 compared to the Rams at 12-of-17.  Mafiaion Joyner led the Bearcats scoring with 15-points and three rebounds, followed by Mohammed Albagami with 13-points.  Trent Stone was the top shooter for the Rams with 10-points.  Ahmed McKenny and Albagami were the leading rebounders for Central with six apiece with Jaron Faulds snagging five rebounds for Holt.  Overall, the Bearcats out-shot the Rams 49 to 32 percent.  Battle Creek Central's record improves to 16-2 while Holt falls to 14-4. The Rams and Bearcats will meet again in two weeks at Battle Creek Central in the first round of district play.
