An adult foster care home in Bellevue has been shut down by the state of Michigan after they were accused of numerous violations.

The Assisted Living W Drive North facility had its group home license suspended by the state, and was ordered to close last Friday. The owner, Bobbi Greenwood-Easter, is now prohibited from operating a similar facility at 11303 W. Drive North, located in Calhoun County near the Eaton County line, or at any other residence; this is a temporary suspension and can be appealed.

The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs alleges that the home demonstrated "lack of good moral character."

Regulatory authorities say that the home committed eight violations of the Adult Foster Care Facility Licensing Act, including:

  • Overbilling a resident by $6,100 and refusing to return the money
  • Failing to give medication according to the label, and failing to dispose or destroy discontinued resident medicine
  • Obtaining a "Power of Attorney Not Affected By Disability" from a resident, and then getting a $33,263.44 car loan to purchase an SUV in the residents name without the resident knowing about it

Greenwood-Easter is now required to inform the guardians of the adults in her care that her license has been suspended.
