During an appearance on The Richard Piet Show Wednesday on WBCK, Battle Creek Police Chief Jim Blocker paused from a discussion of shopping safety to talk about the outcome of the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri.

"We have to open up all lines of communication," he said. "We have to be willing to get in a room and talk about the different perspectives."

Blocker also publicized a Silent March of Protest Monday, December 1 at 10am. The march starts at the New Harvest Christian Center, 155 W. Van Buren Street, and conclude with a time of prayer at the First United Methodist Church, 111 East Michigan, downtown Battle Creek.
