A 45-year-old man from Tennessee was airlifted to Bronson Kalamazoo after a motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon near Marshall.

Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the northbound side of I-69 at the Marshall accident, where the rear tire of a motorcycle blew out, causing the rider of the bike to lose control. The Goodlettsville, Tennessee native was airlifted due to a serious head injury.

Authorities say that speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash, but the man was not wearing a helmet.
