Man Found Dead In Yard Not Far From His Battle Creek Area Home

A man’s body was found Sunday afternoon not far from his Battle Creek area home. The Calhoun County Sheriff Department is investigating the death of the 45-year-old from Springfield who has been identified. Authorities have not released his name at this time as family members are still being notified.

Deputies were called at around 1:45 pm and located the body in the yard outside of a residence in the 300 block of Richfield Avenue near 21st Street. Detectives suspect that the man may have died from some kind of medical condition but they are waiting for results of an autopsy to determine exactly what the cause of dead was. No other information has been released at this time and there was no indication that the death is considered suspicious.
