Police have identified a body discovered 34 years ago in Bossier Parish, Louisiana as a Kalamazoo woman.
The Bossier Parish (La.) Sheriff's Office says the woman, whose body was found January 28, 1981, has been identified as Carol Anne Cole of Kalamazoo.
MLive reports the department matched DNA samples provided by Cole's family and the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety with that of the victim.
Louisiana police say Cole had multiple stab wounds when she was found and they determined she had been killed in late 1980.
Cole's sister, Jeanie Phelps, says her sister moved from Kalamazoo to Texas with her mother when Cole was 15-years-old. The family lost contact with Cole in the winter of 1980.
