The search for the body of a man who jumped into Gull Lake to save his drowning son has come to an end. Authorities recovered the body of 39 year-old Danyelle Phillips at 7:30 PM Sunday evening.

According to MLive.Com, Phillips was in a boat with his son, Saturday afternoon, when his son began to struggle in the water. Phillips jumped in to save him, but disappeared in the water. Another person, in the boat, also jumped in and was successful in getting Phillips son back into the boat but could not find Phillips.

Danyelle was known to be a driving force in the lives of his children and others. He was part of the coaching staff of the Kalamazoo Bulldogs Youth Football team.
