One more boil water advisory has been issued this week in Battle Creek.

The city says Wednesday morning that residents on the affected streets need to boil water for at least a minute before using it for things like drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or food prep.

This is necessary because water main work is taking place, and when water pressure is lowered bacteria can enter the system.

The following streets are under the boil water advisory until further notice:

  • Meachem Ave. between Spring St. and Upton Ave.
  • Annapolis Ave. between Boardman Ave. and Blanch St.
  • Blanch St. between Meachem Ave. and Boardman Ave.
  • Spring St. between Meachem Ave. and Upton Ave.

Boil water advisories typically last at least 24 hours, but may take longer. Once testing is done to determine that bacteria levels are safe, the advisory will be lifted.
