A new boil water advisory is in effect for a Battle Creek neighborhood.

This advisory is the first of two likely coming, as a result of water shutoffs for valve replacement.  You can look here for a complete list of water shutoffs occurring this week.

In a release, the City of Battle Creek says that before using water for cooking, washing dishes, and brushing teeth, water should be brought to a boil for at least one minute to ensure safety.

The affected areas include:

-Bechman Ave between Summer St & Territorial Rd
-Fairhome Ave between Bidwell St & Territorial Rd
-Summer St between LaVista Blvd & Foster Ave
-Territorial Rd between LaVista Blvd & Highland Ave

Boil Water Advisories usually last 24 hours, but may be extended.
