A six-run second inning put the Battle Creek Bombers behind; they put up a great effort in front of the biggest crowd at home this season.

It was Education Day at C.O. Brown Stadium, but the Rochester Honkers taught the Bombers a lesson in a 11-7 game Tuesday. After four straight wins, the Bombers (4-4) have now dropped two straight.

Spencer Hemphill (Louisiana-Monroe) had two hits and drove in a run in the loss for the Bombers. Dre Gleason (Austin Peay), Trek Stemp (Washington State) and Tim McKeithan (Brown) alos drove in a run each, as the Bombers left 12 runners on base on the day.

Andrew Mitchell (Delgado Community College) allowed five runs in 1 1/3 innings to take the loss in his first appearance of the year.

The Bombers will continue their four-game homestand Wednesday night with the first of two games against the Kenosha Kingfish. Min Hsia (National Taiwan Sports University, 0-0) will get his second start of the year for the Bomb Squad against the Kingfish's Brendon Allen (Eastern Illinois, 0-1).
