A soggy night at C.O. Brown Stadium Saturday pushed the two-game series between the Battle Creek Bombers and the Waterloo Bucks to Sunday for a double-header, with two seven-inning contests.

In Game 1, the Bombers only had three hits but held the Bucks to two in a 1-0 victory. Lin Li (National Taiwan Sports) had the lone RBI as he grounded out into a double play with nobody out, scoring Tyler Walsh (Belmont). Alex Hermeling (Louisiana-Monroe) threw the complete game, holding the Bucks to two hits and striking out seven to move to 2-1 on the season.

The Bucks would return the favor in Game 2, picking up the 1-0 win over the Bombers to get the split. Cayce Bredlau (Austin Peay) had two hits for the Bomb Squad, part of the team's seven hits, but they would leave eight runners on base in the game. After a solid start from Andrew Mitchell (Delgado Community College), Michael Peterson (Riverside City College) would allow the lone run in relief to suffer the loss. He is now 1-2 on the season.

The Bombers continue their four-game home stand tonight with the first of two games with the Madison Mallards. The Mallards have lost two straight and eight of their last 10 after Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Green Bay Bullfrogs. After a hot start and leading the Northwoods League South Division, the Mallards have dropped to fifth place and lead the Bombers by a game.

The Bombers will send out Min Hsia (National Taiwan Sports, 1-1) for the start tonight, while the Mallards will counter with Nate Hoffmann (Middle Tennessee State, 1-0). First pitch is at 7:05pm.
