Although the Battle Creek Bombers had one representative in the Northwoods League All-Star Game, they helped on the mound in a 3-1 South Division victory over the North in Wisconsin Rapids Tuesday.

A crowd of just over 2,000 fans saw most of the offense in the first inning, with two of the South's three runs coming right out of the gate.

The Bombers' lone representative, Alex Hermeling of Ohio State, allowed two hits and struck out one in his lone inning of work - the fourth inning.

Among the other players with area relevance, Shane Bryant (Purdue) allowed one hit in the eighth inning for the South as the only member on the roster for the Kalamazoo Growlers. Ryan Orr of Kalamazoo College got the second out for the South in the ninth on five pitches. He was one of seven players from the Kenosha Kingfish on the South roster.

The Battle Creek Bombers return to action on Thursday night at C.O. Brown Stadium, as they begin a two-game series with the Kingfish. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. on the final Thirsty Thursday of the season.
