After the Kalamazoo Growlers scored twice in the second inning, the Battle Creek Bombers would counter with two of their own and add another in the third to take a 5-2 victory Thursday night. The win was the first of the Northwoods League season for the Bomb Squad, who received two RBI each from Li Lin (National Taiwan Sports University) and Matt Simmons (Gardner-Webb).

Spencer Hemphill (Louisiana-Monroe) continued his hot hitting with two more hits. He has had a hit in each of the Bombers first three games.

Edgar Sanchez (Cedar Valley College) allowed both runs on six hits in six innings to earn the victory on the mound for the Bombers. Tyler Harris (Miami-Ohio) and Min Hsia (National Taiwan Sports) combined to throw three no-hit innings of relief.

The Bombers wrap up the two-game series with the Growlers in Kalamazoo, as they open their home schedule Friday. First pitch at Homer Stryker Field is at 7:05 p.m.
