The Battle Creek Bombers begin their quest for the Northwoods League championship tonight in a season-long celebration of 10 years of collegiate baseball in the Cereal City.

The Bombers will have their first three games of the season at C.O. Brown Stadium, as they will play the first of two games with the Madison Mallards. Following an early morning game Wednesday with the Mallards, the Bombers will see their rival Kalamazoo Growlers on Thursday night.

The Bomb Squad currently features four players with Michigan ties, including former Gull Lake grad and current Central Michigan pitcher Colton Bradley and Kellogg Community College infielder Cooper Marshall. Four others play at colleges and universities in the state. They will also have other players returning from last season, including Dan Swain (Siena) and Christian Helsel (Penn State).

Gary McClure was named head coach of the Bombers just 10 days ago, after Bryan Moses received a promotion at Brown University after being named coach with the Bombers in April. McClure is the former head coach at Austin Peay University and has over 30 years of coaching experience.

The new Moe Skeeter makes his first public appearance for fans tonight, and the first 1,000 fans will get magnet schedules.

Catch the action at C.O. Brown Stadium tonight at 7:05pm.
