The Battle Creek Bombers used some early offense to give them a win over the La Crosse Loggers on the road Monday. After scoring four runs in the first three innings, the Bombers would hold on for a 7-5 victory to end a five-game losing skid.

Brennon Lund (Brigham Young) and Lin Li (Taiwan) each had three hits on the night for the Bomb Squad and Gary Russo (Miami OH) drove in three runs on his first homer of the season in just his fourth game with the team.

Edgar Sanchez (Prairie View A & M) allowed just two runs in six innings to earn his team-high fourth win on the mound. He's now 4-1 on the year. Mason Marshall (Brigham Young) struggled, allowing three runs in a late Loggers comeback, but would hold on for his sixth save.

The Bombers look for the two-game sweep Tuesday night in La Crosse. The Bombers will send out Nick Medeiros (Santa Clara, 0-2) for the start. The Loggers have yet to announce their starter. First pitch at Copeland Park is at 8:05 p.m.
