The Battle Creek Bombers scored on the Rochester Honkers' miscues, but were unable to get a split in the two-game series. After leaving eight runs on in the series opener Wednesday, they left seven more in a 3-2 loss at Mayo Field. The Bombers are 0-2 to start the Northwoods League's second half.

Brennon Lund (Brigham Young) had three hits on the night for the Bombers, with Lin Li (Taiwan) adding two more and the lone extra-base hit.

Alex Hermeling (Ohio State) allowed all three Honkers runs in six innings while fanning 11 to take the loss. He is now 2-3 on the year.

The Bombers travel to Iowa to open a two-game series with the Waterloo Bucks in their cross-division trip. The Bucks are also on a two-game skid, after they were swept by the St. Cloud Rox Thursday night in a 8-4 defeat. Min Hsia (Taiwan, 2-2) will take the mound for the Bombers, while the Bucks have yet to announce their starter for the series opener. First pitch at Riverfront Stadium is at 8:05 p.m. this Friday.
