Virginia Tech’s Tom Stoffel went three for five with two home runs.  Stoffel knocked in a total of four runs after leading off the game with a home run, and then even pitched two scoreless innings to end the game.

Storm Joop (Indianapolis) led off the fourth with a home run. Davenport University’s Andrew Click started and pitched 7 innings, giving up one run on three hits and struck out six.

So after 1-game playoff wins over Rockford and Wisconsin Rapids, the Bombers are headed to the Summer Collegiate World Series for the first time since 2011.   Battle Creek will face the St. Cloud Rox in a three-game series. Since Battle Creek has the better overall record, the Bombers will host two of the three series games. The series will start tonight in St. Cloud at 8:05 ET, with games two and three on Thursday and Friday in Battle Creek.
