A bone marrow registration event happening Monday at Borgess Medical Center Lawrence Education Center in Kalamazoo is the latest local event to seek out bone marrow donors.

A bone marrow transplant, for some fighting leukemia, is the last resort toward fending off the blood cancer. But, one must first find a bone marrow match - which could be anywhere in the world.

Your chance to be a bone marrow donor - by registering - is happening until noon and then 4-6:30pm in rooms123-124 of the Lawrence Education Center at Borgess in Kalamazoo.

Nick Hudson, himself a bone marrow donor which saved the life of a young boy with leukemia, now works for the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation, and tells The Richard Piet Show on WBCK, donating isn't at all as hard or painful as some people believe.
